The Salad Depot concept arose from a need for a quality commercial salad.   Dave Miles of Sunnyside Salads, now Dave’s Salad House, recognized that need.  He connected with John Zeigler back in 1985 when John was a jobber for a cold cut company.  John added Dave’s Salad to his product line while his Dad, John Senior, and his brother Dan expanded on John’s idea to build the Salad Depot.  
So starting from a few cases a day off his truck, John planted the seed and with help from his family grew into a multi million dollar business.  Dad retired in 1985 so now The Salad Dept is owned and operated solely by the second generation, John and Dan.
 Salad Depot is a still a small, but growing company amidst giants in the industry. The staff at Salad Depot put in many hours a day providing premium service and quality products to our customers.  Dan starts his work day in the middle of the night (midnight) and John begins very early in the morning at 3:30 AM.   Serving our customers and exceeding their expectations is our primary concern.  We go the extra mile!

Salad Depot is the ONLY authorized outlet in New Jersey for Dave's Salad House salad line. In addition, Salad Depot has expanded beyond just Dave's Salads. Our product line now comprises over a thousand items in stock and thousands more that can be ordered in a short time. 
Salad Depot is not a retail establishment. We are trade only and pride ourselves on not competing with our own customers.   We supply the basics, the commodity items, and also try to find new and emerging products and companies whose entry into the market will exhibit interest and niche markets.
